Born in the shadow of the Himalayas, raised at the gateway of Bhutan — our story is not about tours and packages. It is about people, trust, and journeys that change lives.
I did not start this company to sell tours. I started it because I wanted every traveller to feel what I felt — standing at the Bhutan gate for the first time, heart full of wonder.
My name is Bidur Singh Biswakarma. I grew up in Jaigaon — a small, busy border town in West Bengal where the air always carried the scent of something extraordinary. Just across the gate was Bhutan. As a child, I would stand at the border and watch travellers disappear through that golden gate, wondering what magical world lay beyond.
I grew up watching tourists struggle — overcharged, misguided, lost in translation, cheated by unknown agents sitting thousands of kilometres away. I saw the frustration on their faces. And I made a promise to myself: if I ever got the chance, I would do this differently.
In 2017, with nothing but passion, local knowledge, and an unshakeable belief in honest travel, I started WanderWaysHolidays. The first year was hard. But then came the first family — a couple from Kolkata celebrating their anniversary in Bhutan. When they returned through that gate, the wife had tears in her eyes. She held my hand and said “Thank you for giving us the best days of our lives.”
That moment changed everything. That is why WanderWaysHolidays exists. Not for profit — but for those tears of joy.
Everything we do, every tour we plan, every traveller we guide — is rooted in these two core beliefs.
To make authentic Himalayan travel accessible, safe, and deeply personal for every traveller — regardless of budget. We believe every person deserves to experience the magic of Bhutan, the serenity of Sikkim, and the soul of the Northeast — with a guide who genuinely cares about their journey, not just their booking.
We do not sell packages. We craft experiences that stay with people for a lifetime.
To become the most trusted name in Himalayan travel — known not for the size of our company, but for the depth of our relationships with every traveller we serve. We envision a future where Jaigaon is recognised as the starting point of life-changing Himalayan journeys, and WanderWaysHolidays is the name every traveller recommends to their family and friends.
We are not the biggest travel company. We are the most personal one — and that makes all the difference.
Our office is in Jaigaon — literally steps from the Bhutan border gate. We do not plan your trip from a faraway city. We know these roads personally, daily, every season.
Our guides Sonam, Thinley and Pema are local storytellers who bring destinations to life with personal knowledge no textbook can teach.
No hidden charges. No surprise costs. Every rupee is accounted for upfront. We believe trust is built before the trip begins, not after it ends.
Every traveller is different. We spend time understanding your preferences, pace, interests and budget before crafting a route that feels made specifically for you.
Whether you are at Gurudongmar Lake at 5am or on a night train to Darjeeling — our team is reachable any time of day or night. You are never alone on our trips.
Every traveller who trusts us becomes part of our story. We follow up after trips, we remember your names, and we celebrate when you come back.
The faces and hearts behind every WanderWaysHolidays journey. Not employees — family.
Founder & CEO
Bidur grew up in Jaigaon watching travellers cross into Bhutan with wonder in their eyes. That childhood curiosity became a lifelong mission. With over 7 years of building WanderWaysHolidays from the ground up, he personally oversees every itinerary, every client relationship, and every guide — ensuring that the promise he made as a child is kept for every single traveller.
Senior Guide
Sonam was born near the Bhutan border and has spent his entire life navigating its valleys, dzongs, and mountain passes. He speaks fluent Dzongkha and has guided hundreds of Indian families safely through Bhutan’s most breathtaking routes. Travellers often say “Sonam did not show us Bhutan — he introduced us to it.”
Tour Guide
Thinley has trekked every trail in Sikkim and explored every corner of Northeast India. From the glacial shores of Gurudongmar Lake to the living root bridges of Meghalaya, Thinley turns every trip into an adventure story. His calm energy and deep knowledge make even first-time trekkers feel completely safe at high altitude. Clients call him “the human GPS of the Himalayas.”
Tour Guide
Pema knows every hidden tea garden path in Darjeeling, every ancient monastery in Kalimpong, and every scenic route into Nepal. Her warmth and storytelling make every trip personal. Families especially love travelling with Pema — she has a rare gift of making everyone, from grandparents to children, feel included and cared for.
Every milestone is a story of trust placed in us by a traveller who believed in us.
Bidur Singh Biswakarma founds WanderWaysHolidays in Jaigaon with a simple goal: honest, personal, local travel. The first group — a couple from Kolkata — visits Bhutan. Their tearful “thank you” at the border gate becomes the company’s founding memory.
Encouraged by early success, we launch packages to Darjeeling, Sikkim and Kalimpong. Sonam joins as our first dedicated Bhutan guide, bringing deep local knowledge that no outsider could match.
We cross 100 completed trips. Nepal is added to our destinations. Thinley and Pema join the team, bringing expertise in Sikkim, Northeast, Darjeeling and Nepal.
When COVID shut the world down, we paused operations but never closed our hearts. We stayed connected with our travellers over WhatsApp and emerged from the pandemic with stronger relationships than ever before.
We expand to include Assam, Meghalaya and the Dooars wildlife corridor. Our Northeast packages quickly become fan favourites among nature and wildlife lovers.
WanderWaysHolidays crosses 500 happy travellers. Every Google review a five-star story. Bidur’s childhood promise to the travellers at the Bhutan gate is being fulfilled, one journey at a time.
These are not just reviews. These are the reasons we wake up every morning and do what we do.
We were a group of four friends from Mumbai with zero knowledge of Bhutan. Bidur handled everything — permits, hotels, guide, transport. Sonam was incredible. He took us to a monastery not on any tourist map. That evening, watching the monks pray as the sun set over the Himalayan peaks, was the most spiritual moment of my life. I cried. I am not ashamed to say that.
I am 68 years old and always dreamed of seeing Sikkim. My children were worried about my health at high altitude. Thinley was patient, careful, and genuinely concerned about my comfort at every step. When I stood at Gurudongmar Lake, I thought — this is why I lived this long. Bidur personally called me the day after I returned to ask if I was well. That is not service — that is family.
Pema took our family of five — including two young children — through Darjeeling and Nepal. She found us a tea estate where the children could pick their own tea leaves. The owner brought out homemade snacks. My daughter still talks about that afternoon. No travel agency itinerary could have created that moment — only someone who truly knows the place and loves it.
